Well, besides the phones and the way watches that can send messages really fast the lights are new. Not to mention the way to cook things! I can cook many more things with ingredients that used to take sometimes weeks to get I can get in minutes. There are machines that makes cooking much faster and easier! I knew how to do it back home, but I was never able to cook so many dishes and be able to store them for a long time. There's more entertainment here than back home too. Books! There are so many books that aren't banned! Back home the church has the authority over what we can read so it's amazing to get so many books at one time too. There's more, so much more than back home.

[Ashe realized how excited he became around a new person. He gave a sheepish smile and rubbed the back of his neck.]

Um, that's just naming a few things. Is it the same for you?

The watches are very interesting! I didn't know that they work the same as the phones.

[Ashe finally figured out how to control the volume after he accidentally turned it up and didn't know how to turn it down for a few minutes. He was still getting used to the different features like voice to text. He still didn't know how to use the letters that seemed to appear when he touched the screen.]

Yes, it's true, it's my first time seeing something like this. They didn't have anything like this back home. These phones can do a lot, though are times I have to put it down because it does so much. I'm used to writing letters not the electronic kind.

They do! It took me a little bit to understand them. Trying to write anything is such a bother, though. I wish pen and paper was more feasible, especially since we're all in one place, but I suppose the cost would be to know our messages may not be delivered...

It has. I will admit that there are so many things that it feels a bit overwhelming. Back home I didn't have as many choices, now that I do I sometimes don't know what to pick. Oh, I haven't told you my name. It's Ashe, nice to meet you!

I wish pen and paper was easier to get too. Sending messages through the phone or watch is easier, but there are times I do miss being able to write a message then mail it.

I'm definitely gonna have to get used to that. You can get mail so easy too. I'm really surprised by how many different forms of entertainment there are too. Back home the church controlled how much of what we read that now I can get any kind of book. It's pretty surprising.

I don't believe I've kept nearly as busy as you have, it seems. Perhaps I should look into picking up a few hobbies of my own.

[ That's said hopefully, not with any kind of certainty or conviction. The resort has to have paper somewhere to be bought or...or someone willing to provide some for a favor. But no, everyone wants to rely on technology. ]

I do know someone who has access to paper somehow, unless it's a kind of magic he knows. I'll ask about it. Though it does baffle me how much is available besides what I'm used to. You're right about all of the things that one can do or see, even if some of it is quite scandalous...

Really? Thanks! I appreciate you asking about it. I want to feel paper just for a little while. There are more scandalous things here too. Not that that's bad! I just got to get used to seeing it.

[Ashe hummed while he gathered his thoughts.]

Well, there were different parts of history, books that were deemed unfit for a honest lifestyle, and books that had a different view of events of the Archbishop. Well, the archbishop at the time. I don't think those books about Rhea are still around.

[He mentioned the name before he thought twice about it.] Other than that it was books that had some scenes in it that we weren't allowed to read.

[ Dorothea all but chokes on her next exhale, sitting up abruptly from where she's been lounging. Archbishop. Rhea. What is— ]

Who is this?

[ Her tone is urgent, rushed, almost worried. The voice is familiar then, but she can't help but wonder if she's just hearing things. ]

It's much easier to find things here. Back home I'm usually so busy I only have a few moments to grab some reading before the end of the night. I'm not so busy here so I want to look for a new hobby.

Reading has become a favored past time of mine now. I hardly had much time for it myself before. Aside from that, playing pool. Though I wonder if that would count?
